A New Traffic Exchange Is On The Horizon
Songman Hits has been pretty successful, thanks to many dedicated members who surf, consistently add sites, banners, text, etc., and also offer suggestions or criticisms as needed. It went "Live" on September 11, 2010, and I think it is time to start another traffic exchange. I have looked at some that are for sale, but they do not fit with the theme I have in mind. Therefore, I will start from scratch, and need support from current members as well as members of other traffic exchanges to help me decide what type of script to use.

You could win $5 every week at Songman Hits in our $5 Prize Page Surf. Once a week, not on any particular day, there will be a page in the surf with my picture in a $5 bill. When you come across the page, report the site and your entry will be recorded. You can surf as long as you want and collect as many entries as you can during the $5 Prize Page Surf. All members of Songman Hits have an opportunity to win an Ipad 2 or $500 cash in our Sizzlin' Summer referral contest! The contest will run from June 1 to August 31, 2011. If you would like a chance to win an Ipad 2, or choose the substitute of $500 cash, all you need to do is refer 10 new members to Songman Hits within the contest run time! Another traffic exchange I am a member of offered the chance to win an Ipad 2 in a 30-day contest in April, and I thought it was a great idea, but too short. There are some members at Songman Hits that are really good promoters, but I wanted even the novice promoters to have a chance to win, so increased the time to 90 days.

Traffic Exchanges Lifetime Memberships
There are several Traffic Exchanges that have popped up recently, (and some not so recently), that offer some incredible deals on lifetime memberships to their traffic exchanges. Songman Hits will never jump on that bandwagon because it cheapens your membership value. Let me tell you why:
1) People tend to buy the memberships, set up their websites, and leave. You hardly see them unless they run out of credits. If there are too many "lifetimers", no one surfs and their credits just sit there, and the traffic exchange becomes stagnant. There are several traffic exchanges that I have been a member of for a few years with decent memberships, but my sites are not being seen because no one surfs. Why? They handed out too many lifetime Gold or Platinum memberships when they launched.
2) How long is the TE going to be running? I am a member of a TE that changed ownership, and I really don't like the way the new owner is doing things. The membership is now useless to me. I am GLAD I didn't sign on with the lifetime membership.
3) In my opinion, CHEAP lifetime memberships are window dressing to build membership fast, and to make fast cash for the owner. They are great for getting huge payouts on referrals, but, does it REALLY help you with advertising your products? They really serve no other purpose.
I would prefer to build a solid foundation with a loyal following that build residual income through memberships, not a "let's get cash quick" type of deal. Sure, I could sell a lifetime membership for $7.95 to $50 and probably build my membership quickly and buy that Jeep Rubicon I want, but what happens after that?
